Gentle cleaning that removes dirt, stains, moss and the white mineral haze called efflorescence without harming the brick.
Brick that looks tired is often just dirty. Years of rain, pollen, smoke and algae darken the face, and white, chalky deposits called efflorescence show up where moisture has moved through the wall. A careful cleaning can bring the color back without changing the surface.
We start with a test patch to find the gentlest method that works. Depending on the stain, we use low-pressure water, mild cleaners or specialized products for rust, smoke or mortar smears. If efflorescence is the problem, we also look for where the water is coming from, because cleaning without fixing the moisture only brings the white back. Cleaning can be a quick way to improve curb appeal before a sale or a family event, and it often reveals that the brick underneath is in much better shape than the dirt suggested, so repairs may be smaller than expected.
Different bricks react differently to cleaning products. A small test area shows us what works without risk.
Low-pressure rinsing and mild cleaners lift growth and grime. We avoid high pressure that can pit the brick and force water into the wall.
This white salt is left behind when water moves through masonry. We remove it gently and trace the moisture source to prevent its return.
Rust, smoke and new-mortar haze need specific products. We choose by stain and brick type.
