Cracked bricks, crumbling mortar, loose courses and leaning corners, repaired by hand so the wall looks original and holds up again.
Brick is one of the most durable materials on a house, but it is not maintenance free. Water gets into the mortar, winter freezes it, the joint crumbles and the bricks around it start to loosen. A small repair done early is quick. The same wall left alone for a few seasons can turn into rebuilt courses, so the best time to call is when you first notice a problem.
Our repair crew starts by finding out why the wall is failing, not just where. We trace moisture, check the footing and look for movement before we touch a trowel. Then we cut out the damaged brick and mortar, set matching units in fresh mortar and tool the joints so the repair blends in with the rest of the wall.
A cracked wall is a symptom. Before repairing it we look for roof or gutter water, settling, missing flashing or a bad lintel, because fixing the surface without the cause only brings the crack back.
Damaged bricks are removed one at a time without disturbing the neighbors. We match size, color and texture, set new units in fresh mortar and keep the courses straight and level.
Older walls need softer mortar than modern cement mixes. We match the mix to the age and type of the brick so the wall can still breathe and shed water.
Joints are tooled to match the profile around them, excess mortar is cleaned off the face and the work area is swept before we leave.

You tell us about the wall, chimney, patio or idea and the timeline, and we set a visit that fits your day.
We walk the property, look closely at the masonry, show brick and stone samples and talk through the layout.
We measure everything, write a proposal and coordinate any association approvals or permits.
We mark the work area, protect lawns and plants, excavate and set footings and bases.
Our masons lay brick, stone and block by hand, checking level, plumb and spacing at every stage.
We tool the joints, clean the faces, walk the project with you, share care tips and leave the site clean.
Stair-step cracks wider than a pencil line, bulging courses and cracks that keep growing deserve a visit. Hairline cracks are often cosmetic.
Often yes. We try salvaged units first and match new ones for color and size when needed.
A good repair blends in. Mortar color, joint shape and brick texture are matched to the surrounding wall.
Small repairs may take a day. Larger wall sections take longer, and we give a schedule with the proposal.
Not for most of the work. We need access to the wall and a quick walk-through at the end.
