Breathable sealers and waterproofing that repel rain while letting the wall dry out, with the repairs that make them work.
Water is the enemy of masonry. It enters through cracks, soaks into porous brick and stone and then freezes and expands. A good sealer can slow that process dramatically, but only if the right product is used on the right surface at the right time.
We choose breathable, penetrating sealers that repel liquid water but let vapor escape, so the wall can dry. Film-forming coatings that trap moisture are usually a poor idea on old masonry. Before sealing, we repair cracks and failed mortar and clean the surface, because a sealer over damage hides problems rather than solving them. Sealing works best as part of a plan. We look at gutters, grading and landscaping near the wall, since keeping bulk water away from the masonry does more for its life than any sealer can do alone.
Masonry has to dry from inside. Penetrating sealers repel water without blocking vapor, which protects the wall.
We repoint failed joints and fix cracks first. Sealing over open joints locks problems in rather than solving them.
Different surfaces need different products. Horizontal surfaces, vertical walls and chimneys each get a suitable sealer.
We test with water to see how a surface absorbs, and we advise you on when to reapply.

You tell us about the wall, chimney, patio or idea and the timeline, and we set a visit that fits your day.
We walk the property, look closely at the masonry, show brick and stone samples and talk through the layout.
We measure everything, write a proposal and coordinate any association approvals or permits.
We mark the work area, protect lawns and plants, excavate and set footings and bases.
Our masons lay brick, stone and block by hand, checking level, plumb and spacing at every stage.
We tool the joints, clean the faces, walk the project with you, share care tips and leave the site clean.
No sealer does. Good ones reduce absorption and let the wall dry.
Some darken the surface. We test a small area first.
Often every few years, depending on exposure.
It depends on the paint. We advise after a test.
Sometimes it helps, but the source of the leak must also be fixed.
