Patios, walks, steps and slabs in plain, colored or stamped concrete, finished to look like brick or stone.
Concrete is the most practical surface for many outdoor spaces. It is strong, it can be poured to almost any shape and it can be colored and stamped to look like brick, slate or stone. For walkways, patios, pads and steps, it is a smart option, especially when budgets are tight.
The best concrete work depends on preparation. We grade and compact the base, set forms to the correct slope, place reinforcement, pour and finish at the right time and cut control joints so that cracks, if they occur, follow the joints. Stamped and colored finishes add a decorative layer that is sealed for protection. Concrete also pairs well with other masonry. A stamped border around a paver field, or a plain slab beneath a brick-faced outdoor kitchen, can save money while keeping the look you want where people actually see it.
A compacted stone base and straight forms are essential. They control thickness and slope, and they prevent settling.
Wire or rebar strengthens the slab, and control joints guide where it cracks. These details make concrete last.
Integral color and stamped patterns can imitate brick, slate or cobblestone. Release agents add subtle variation.
A good sealer protects color and resists stains. Resealing every few years keeps it looking fresh.

Light foot traffic is possible in a few days. Vehicles need longer.
A broom or textured finish adds grip.
